Cheap tablet from HTC coming soon

With the smartphone business gradually improving, HTC seems ready to launch a new Android device, the A100.

Contrary to what fans of an HTC might think, the A100 is not a new smartphone but a tablet with low to mid-range specs. This information was given by Indian Twitter user @yabhishekhd.

The leaked information indicates that the HTC A100 is not equipped with powerful hardware, but it will not be too surprising when looking at the product's target, which is the tablet segment priced at about 200 USD.

The report says that the HTC A100 will be equipped with a Spreadtrum T618 chip, combined with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 256 GB. The listing on Google Play Console also reveals that this tablet has a 10.1-inch FHD screen, dual cameras (13 MP 2 MP) and a large 7,000 mAh battery.

The product runs Android 11 when released and sells for $200, although the selling price mentioned on the product page may be the order price only.

The HTC A100 isn't the only Android device that HTC is expected to launch this year as reports suggest the Taiwanese company is ready to bet big on 5G smartphones.
